Together
The last illustration of the semester. I really thank God for how He provides and how he works because I ended up finishing this one in the last week of April. I thought it was bad at the time because I wasn't pacing myself, but it ended up being a blessing because I could then focus on other things as I prepare to graduate.
Even though I finished this one so fast it was a challenge. At first I was going to go with a much more simple style than my usual rendering for each illustration, but I really loved the direction I was going, so I just kept at it. I also saw some pictures on Pinterest of flash photography, and that really inspired me because I never tried drawing that kind of lighting before. Something else that also gave me a challenge was trying to draw MJ's mouth. because her head it turning up, I didn't understand the perspective of it until I had to redraw it a few times. All good times though.
So far this is my favorite illustration out of all the ones I've done. I feel like it really captures the personality of the two characters. And in a way it feels like a old polaroid, a distant memory. Which is what I was kind of going for. My favorite parts of the illustration are Jada's nails, and the beach background. Which I didn't decided to do until the very last minute.

Animation: In Your Eyes Color
This animation isn't actually one that I started from scratch. I started this animation in March of 2024, and my original intention for this animation was to only do lines and no color. But after a conversation with my mom while I was doing it she pushed me to finish it all the way through. Which is easier said than done honestly, but I took what she said to heart.
I worked on this for the entire summer of 2024 up into September, and then I chose to step away from it so I could focus on school. I think that was a good decision because I was becoming really project fatigued, and working on other projects before revisiting this one in this month helped me learn new things as well.
I'm so excited to see her in color, any time someone asks to see my animations I almost always show them this one. I also think it's interesting because the song she's dancing too is actually pretty popular right now even though it came out several years ago. Maybe that's the Lord.
