Cross of Calvary, Alpha & Omega, Lamb of God (Titles Series)
The goal for this illustration was very simple, I didn’t want to stress myself trying to do something complicated. I just wanted to draw my characters. I saw this trio of women on Pinterest a long time ago and I figured it would be cool to recreate that with the CMY primary colors. Before doing this illustration, I felt like the way I had been completing my illustrations was becoming stagnant, so I had been thinking about new ways to add texture or new methods of drawing. While doing this illustration I decided to use a spray paint brush to lay down some soft shading. I ended up liking how this turned out and I’ve incorporated it in my other illustrations too.
Regarding the symbols on their attire, I knew I wanted to incorporate the Lord in it somehow, and at first, I was thinking about doing some kind of Trinity motif, but I decided against that because I didn’t want people to attribute the Trinity to the characters themselves. So I decided to focus on who Jesus is, and His titles. Personalizing Jesus for them. To one He might be Alpha and Omega, to the other The Lamb of God. Yet and still He is all of those things and more.

Animation: Chasing After You
Okay so doing this animation I stressed myself out completely. But it’s so interesting how God works because I remember when I was planning out what I wanted to do in the semester I felt to do this one first. I think because this was more complicated than I thought it why God put it on my heart to do it first.
The inspiration for this song comes from the Tye Tribbett song “Chasing After You” and in the song it describes the never-ending pursuit of God, I chose to do the introductory guitar chord, which was easier said than done. But trying to think about what the character would be doing while playing the guitar was difficult. But I learned a lot about character acting and thinking about what the intent is behind whatever you animate. And also learned that when it comes to long sequences it’s best to thumbnail and try out different ideas before jumping in.
