February

My Goal during this final Semester was an a fully animated video and rendered illustration every month. Click & Scroll to see the Journey

Word of Life, Living Water, Blood of the Lamb (Titles Series)

Similar to the illustration from the previous month, I wanted to do a company pieced to that one, with all my male characters. This time instead of a CMY Primary Color Scheme I went with an RGB Primary Color scheme. This illustration was a lot of fun to do and I enjoyed drawing the guys because I don’t draw them as often as I draw the girls. At first, I was going to do the same symbols as the girls but I changed it to fit who Jesus would be to each person and for the colors as well.

I actually really enjoyed how this one came out, I struggled a bit with the proportions at first and making sure the guys seem cohesive, but Thank God it all worked out at the end

Animation: Car

After the struggle of the last animation I wasn't sure how this one was going to turn out, but I taking what I learned from the last one I was ready to try again. This time realizing that this animation would only be five seconds. I began to get excited about this one. And even try some new things I hadn't tried before.

I don’t remember exactly where the inspiration for this came from, but I do remember taking reference footage of myself in a car a few years ago and I hadn’t done anything with it. Now prepped with the knowledge from the last animation, I knew I wanted to think about the context behind the action before just jumping in. I wanted to give my character “MJ” some sort of attitude like she’s turning her head because someone out of frame said something to her. I think this animation was a lot more fun than the last one because it was so much shorter. So this time I was able to animate on 2’s and attempt something smooth. I also learned more about compositing and color grading.
